More Than a Size: Why Size Inclusivity Has Always Been at the Heart of Dee Kapadiya
At Dee Kapadiya, size inclusivity was never a trend we jumped on. It was a conviction we were built on.
From the very beginning, we knew the woman we were designing for. She is confident, bold and unapologetically herself. She loves her culture, celebrates her heritage and deserves to feel absolutely stunning in what she wears, regardless of the number on her label. And yet, for too long, the Indian fashion industry has told women above a certain size that the most beautiful silhouettes simply weren't made for them.
We refused to accept that.
The Same Outfit. Two Body Types. One Standard of Beauty.
Meet the Queen Crop Top and Queen Skirt — one of our most loved silhouettes, and the outfit that says everything about what Dee Kapadiya stands for.
Same silhouette. Same craftsmanship. Same attention to proportion, fit and detail. Our regular model wears a standard size, while our plus size model's outfit was custom made specifically to her measurements, proportioned thoughtfully for her body type so every line falls exactly as it should. Two women, two colourways, one unwavering standard of beauty.
This is not just fashion. This is a statement.
15.9 Million Reasons the World is Ready for This
When we shot our size inclusive campaign featuring the Match My Energy Lehenga Set in Sage Green on both our models, we had no idea what was about to happen.
The reel went viral. 15.9 million views on Instagram. 4.7 million views on TikTok. Nearly 21 million people stopped scrolling to watch. That number didn't just tell us people loved the content. It told us how desperately the world was waiting to see themselves represented in Indian fashion. Women from across the globe flooded our comments and DMs, women who had never seen themselves in Indian fashion before, women who had given up looking, women who said for the first time they felt seen.
That response changed everything. It confirmed what we had always believed and gave us the courage to shout it even louder.
What Size Inclusivity Really Means to Us
At Dee Kapadiya, size inclusivity goes far beyond offering more sizes. It means:
Most of our pieces are designed with all body types in mind, and every collection will include coordinated pieces that can easily be made for plus size, ensuring there is always something beautiful for every woman. For plus size orders, each outfit is custom made to your exact measurements and proportioned specifically for your body type, so it fits the way it was always meant to. Key design details can be personalized to suit your preference, including sleeve length, neckline depth, crop top length, and whether you'd like a slit or no slit — so what you receive feels uniquely yours. Every woman who wears Dee Kapadiya deserves to feel like the outfit was made for her. For our plus size clients, it literally is.
A Message from Our Founder
"I never wanted to build a brand that made women feel like they had to fit into a mold. I wanted to build a brand that fit the woman. Every woman. That is what Dee Kapadiya stands for and that is what it will always stand for." — Deepali Kapadiya, Founder & CEO
